Ages 5 through 17

Every evaluation is comprehensive. If your child was referred for an ADHD evaluation, the assessment will look closely at attention. It will also look at learning, language, memory, mood, and sleep, because these areas overlap and a narrow evaluation often misses what else is going on. The goal is a clear answer to the referral question and an accurate picture of what is behind it.

Each evaluation includes a detailed developmental and school history, standardized testing across cognitive and academic areas, input from parents and teachers, and a written report with specific recommendations you can use at home and at school.

Common reasons for referral:

• Attention and focus concerns (ADHD)
• Autism
• Reading, writing, and math difficulties (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia)
• Giftedness and twice-exceptionality
• Memory and processing concerns
• School accommodations, IEP and 504 eligibility questions

Interviews and feedback sessions can be done remotely. Testing is done in person in Boone.

Ages 18 and up

Adults come in for testing for a lot of reasons. Some were never evaluated as children and want to know whether ADHD, autism, or a learning disability explains a pattern they have dealt with their whole life. Some need documentation for accommodations at school or at work. Some have noticed changes in memory or concentration and want to know what is driving them.

The evaluation is comprehensive either way. It includes a detailed history, standardized testing of cognitive, executive, and socioemotional functioning, and a written report with clear findings and recommendations. If you need documentation for a specific purpose, such as testing accommodations or workplace accommodations, tell us at intake and the report will be written to address it.

• Memory and concentration changes
• Unclear or conflicting prior diagnoses

Interviews and feedback sessions can be done remotely. Testing is done in person in Boone.

Dr. Rice conducts psychological evaluations for the courts, county social service agencies, and legal counsel. These evaluations answer specific legal questions, and the report goes to the court/retained parties rather than to the person being evaluated.
